Fresh Start in Education work with some of the country's most disengaged and disaffected young people. They've often been excluded from school, have been involved with gangs and can demonstrate challenging behaviour. For many, there's no way to engage them but for Fresh Start's Education Specialists there's always a way in.

Fresh Start are looking for somebody to work on a 1:1 basis with a 15 year-old boy in Rugby. He has previously displayed aggressive behaviours, had involvement with gangs and a long history of criminal activity. He frequently takes drugs and is at risk of exploitation. It will take patience, resilience and creativity to successfully engage him... could this be you?

Key information

  • Placements are typically 6 to 12 weeks in length and are 2 to 5 days per week
  • Sessions take place in the student's homes or public places
  • You'll plan & deliver a bespoke Functional Skills learning programmes centred around the young person's needs & interests

  • The ability to deliver core subjects at GCSE
  • Experienced in working with disengaged students and young people involved in gangs
  • Experienced in managing challenging behaviours
  • Resilience, patience, creativity and empathy
