The Guild lead is focussed on driving Capita’s pivot to a more digital and end-to-end partnership with our clients, through developing compelling consulting CVPs, embedding and establishing a standalone consulting revenue stream, driving relevant gross margin, as well as help reshaping the annuity BPO led transformational revenue streams through their thought leadership and underpinning exceptional services within their area of guild expertise. This role is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Guild. This will define the strategic priorities for the development of Capita Consulting capabilities based on emerging client landscape and competitive landscape. This includes working out how to help clients solve their problems better than our competitors can and how to do so in a way that makes us an attractive firm for people to work in.

What you’ll be doing:

Immediate priorities will include:

  • Determine the structure of the Guild within the practice (including geography management, developing appropriate methodologies and tools).
  • Deliver the Consult & Transform’s in-year business plan, and building the required capability within the Guild to do this.
  • Working with Market, International and Delivery leaders, to drive consulting and transformation led strategic growth, including growth of the practice.
  • Work with the Strategy and Product leaders to develop Consult and Transform CVPs and ensure that the methodologies, products and capabilities are developed as part of ongoing practice management.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for both; creating, co-creating or leveraging IP to resolve client challenges, alongside careers, performance appraisals, promotions, recruitment and training for their people.
  • Managing the wider team to optimise performance and ensure delivery across the guild, a guild head is designed to provide stability and is the cost centre for resources.
  • Govern consulting and transformation services being delivered by the guild, as appropriate and skills and ensure quality.
  • Govern transformation design and delivery solutions. Ensure quality management processes in place.
  • Manage service issues and audits in life
  • Manage consulting and transformation knowledge, skills and tools across the division and coordinate with similar guilds within the other division.
  • Manage project transition from Consult & Transform into delivery, as required, to ensure quality of delivery.
  • Harvest existing work for future CVPs (e.g. there will be CVP practice owners in Consult & Transform) in conjunction with Strategy & Products
  • Actively nurture talent and develop capability and career opportunities to maximise diversity of thought.
  • Fully accountable for the headcount across the guild, including resourcing, training and development, and performance management
  • Full accountability over their resources, pooling them together to allow for movement between team, task and sectors to achieve the desired utilisation target.
  • Work closely with the Director of Transform and Consult to manage consult & transform delivery quality control and report guild service updates
  • Support the Market and International MDCPs with guild expertise to develop solutions for complex client situations to ensure meeting of goals and objectives, and deliver results that are supportive of the growth agenda. Embed and Interlock into Account Plans as guild expertise is required.
  • Support Strategy & Products with guild expertise for strategy development and development of CVPs.
  • Partnering across Divisions, where appropriate, to ensure an overall ecosystem of consulting services and achieve Capita’ vision of being a consulting led organisation.
  • Effective management of enterprise risks and compliance with corporate policies, area specific legislation, pricing and litigation regulations.
  • Accountable for driving a collaborative culture in line with our values.
  • Ensure agreed utilisation targets are achieved for the people within their Guild;
  • Provide pastoral care to ensure the Guild team feels recognised, consulted and communicated with.
  • Known as an expert in the market in their field
  • Exceptional client service – build Capita brand, client advocacy and marketplace standing
  • Quality and effective risk management – support the foundations of service quality – be professional and consistent. Promote and sustain effective risk management and compliance
  • People engagement and teaming – act as a visible role model. Coach and develop all our people.
  • Strategic discussions with key clients and supporting them in resolving their issues.
  • Challenging the delivery teams to consider client issues and whether the proposed solutions meet client needs.
  • Participating in senior level and strategic meetings on engagements.

  • Proven track record of achieving consulting sales
  • Significant experience of managing a team in a matrix organisation
