Senior Project Manager - Healthcare Marketing

About this role:

The role of the Project Manager is to manage the end-to-end project lifecycle; from scoping through to project close. Project Managers are hands on and able to lead by example. They work and cultivate great working relationships with both internal teams and third parties, to ensure the right expertise is engaged and involved in projects.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong day-to-day project management skills. The role is client facing at times and demands a good working relationship with the client services team to provide projects with strong leadership.

Whilst we encourage areas of expertise within the Global Commercial team (e.g. congress, digital, video), Project Managers are experienced and able to work on all project types. The successful candidate should therefore have demonstrable experience in delivering a range of project types.

What you'll do

Project Management

  • Accountable for your projects: writing project scopes, estimating project costs, tracking budgets, resourcing, assessing risks (and mitigations) throughout the project
  • Be the go-to person for all status-related information and so is expected to be on top of progress at all times
  • Confidently lead a complete project team, that includes account handlers, creatives, medical writers, UX, third party partners (e.g. build/event teams) as well as internal teams
  • Work on a variety of project types (e.g. leave pieces, banner ads, eDetails, print/merchandise materials, interactive videos, experiential installations, and large-scale congresses) for a range of clients and audiences
  • Facilitate collaboration between your team members, whilst also providing strong leadership and a level-headed approach, to deliver on brief and on time – Project Managers are at the heart of all projects and so must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Cultivate good relations with internal and external resources on projects
  • Accountable for financial health and reconciliation of all owned projects, which will include budget tracking as the job runs and input of data into the internal finance system.
  • Use experience/knowledge to mitigate risk on project and provide a springboard during early concept work. The Project Manager is seen to be the subject matter expert on asset-type and would be leant upon for this support.
  • Provide comprehensive analysis and reporting on all deliverables for feedback to senior management
  • Contribute to pitches/RFP

Working with others (vendors, broader group)

  • Liaison with third party programmers and growth/creation of these relationships.
  • Supports cross-agency and/or cross-capability work where project management team are involved
  • Provides meaningful input as to the performance of external vendors/other employees. When identifying skill-gaps provide solutions on how to improve in these areas and where approved, execute against them.
  • Look to provide a network of suppliers who can assist in all aspects of your area of expertise, both to work on projects and troubleshoot, as well as to inspire and train others.
  • Building morale, encouraging collaboration, creativity and innovation.


  • Innovate within this space, introducing and explaining new platforms/showcasing what is available.
  • Be a dependable and capable senior member of the team, anticipating issues and developing solutions.

About you

  • 7+ years of full creative marketing agency experience – an understanding of the roles and responsibilities all team members contribute and who is required to make a deliverable happen, is essential
  • A proven and respected background in project management with an understanding of all tasks required, and by whom, on a project team
  • Experience of day-to-day project management of a range of project types, such as congress, eDetails, websites (deep technical experience is not essential), video, print, digital banners, and other such areas.
  • Energetic and passionate about creative delivery that is driven by user experience, whilst being aware of end platform capability
  • Though this is not always a client-facing role, experience and confidence in communicating with clients is essential
  • EMEA experience necessary (alongside local market)
  • Healthcare experience
